Department and Campus code available on Academic_Study

One of the most frequently asked questions is how to group students by department. Effective with the new release of the ODS, this capability is now available. Reports accessing the Academic_Study views for FAU have the department and campus codes columns being populated. Now DART BOARD users may access the Academic Study Primary with GPA template (pictured above) to group students by department. The campus code will appear on the detail reports, Show Me All the Data and Create A Report.

New Template provides Information about available DART BOARD Templates!

To perform queries on DART BOARD templates and locate available reporting fields (i.e., columns), datasource, and/or templates (this is called metadata) and identify their application tab, please find under the General Utilities tab, under "Welcome" Business Concept the latest template named "DART BOARD Template Metadata".

The DART BOARD Template Metadata includes filters which will allow to discover where reporting fields, (i.e. columns) are located with their associated template, datasource, application tab and required Banner Security object. Discover which template you should be using for your reports.

A Cool Tip .... Entering more than one value in a text box

One of my favorite users (actually there are many of you) challenged me today with a need to enter more than one value in a text box. Specifically he wanted to specify multiple Course Reference Numbers on the Class Roll template. I discovered that this is possible if you enter the desired Course Reference Numbers as follows:

The rule to remember is that you will need to quote the values (provided they are alphanumeric fields) and concatenate them together with the word, "OR".

Happy filtering!
